Finalizing P3 - the 1,000 Word Report

Welcome to the downhill slide

Here are the deadlines you have approaching in this class:

Revisions: Revision memos are due FRIDAY, November 22. Make sure you have not deleted any of your previous drafts. If you have revised, you should have 4 drafts on your page. If you have questions, please contact me. I will not grade a revision which is not submitted in the way I have instructed, and I will not grade a revision without a revision memo. Last day to promote your narrative: Before 11:59 pm SUNDAY December 1. P3 1,000-Word Process Report: Before 11:59 pm on MONDAY December 2 Final Wix/ePortfolio: Before 5pm on FRIDAY December 6

As you can see, you have a lot of work ahead of you before this semester is officially, officially over. The good news is you do not have a final exam for this class, which means once you submit that Final Wix/ePortfolio link, your semester with me is complete.

But before then, you have to finish your Project #3.

What do you need for your P3 Process Report.

Project #3 (1,000- Word) Process Report will be graded along these parameters: Creative: Did your narrative meet the minimum requirements? Is it engaging? Is the story clear? Is it well organized? What was your decision-making process while putting together this narrative? Why did you select this form for your narrative? What audience were your attempting to reach and why? What were your style and design choices. Design: What choices did you make when designing visual modes (advertisements) to represent this text-based narrative? What visuals did you choose to reflect your narrative? Why those fonts? Why those colors? Promotion: Which 2 social media accounts did you use to promote your narrative? Why did you select those social media platforms for promotion? How did people respond? Did you make changes to optimize others' response to your narrative?

When writing your P3 1,000-word report, be sure to answer the following questions:

Creative:

  • What is the name of the narrative you created? List everything you were required to do and everything you completed.

  • Who was the intended audience for this narrative? What choices did you make to ensure your narrative was appealing to your audience?

  • What sub-genre conventions did you utilize for the completion of your project? For example, if you wrote a horror story, what conventions of the horror sub-genre did you utilize in your narrative?

  • How did the project change from conception to completion?

Design:

  • What were the promotional advertisements you built for this project?

  • What software, programs and tools did you utilize to complete your promotional images?

Promotion and Marketing:

  • Which social media platforms did you use to promote your narrative?

  • What was your plan to draw attention to your narrative?

  • What hashtags did you utilize?

  • Which social media account was most successful?

  • How many people did you follow in an attempt to get them to follow you back?

  • What was the total number of posts for each individual social media platform?

  • If the audience did not respond, what were your next steps? What did you do to capture their attention?

Reflection:

  • How did you manage your time for this project?

  • How was the composition process different for Project 3 as opposed to your other projects, and avoid the obvious answers like one was a research paper and the other wasn't, or which one was easier. I don't want to know which you liked, but what decisions you made when facing the blank page for P3 and how the processes for P1 and P2 differed from P3.

  • What considerations did you have to make for your narrative which you did not make for Project #1 or Project #2.

  • What was most challenging aspect about composing Project #3 vs Project #1 and Project #2?

  • What advice would you have given yourself before beginning Project #1 or Project #2 to make Project #3 easier?

Word count is 1,000 words or more. You should write this like a report. Don't just copy the question and supply the answers. Post this report on your P3 page and upload the appropriate link to Canvas.

If you are wondering how you should design your P3 page, go to the Class Wix P3 Style and Design page. Utilize the Free Apps that Wix offers while will make providing evidence of your promotional campaign easier.
